Handyman in Rocklin, CA
Rocklin is home base, so most of my days start and end here. Much of the town went up in a few big building waves, so the same parts tend to wear out on the same streets at about the same time.
Homes in Rocklin
Sunset Whitney is the older part of town. The houses around the golf course were built in the late 1950s and early ’60s, after the old Whitney ranch was subdivided. Sixty-odd years and several owners later, they come with doors that have settled out of square, interior walls covered in decades of patched anchor holes, and plenty of earlier repairs that need redoing.
Stanford Ranch is the big one: a 3,000-acre master-planned community built out from the 1980s on. A lot of those houses still have their builder-grade fixtures, like brass-finish faucets, basic ceiling fans and toilets on their third flapper. Many of the original wood fences are still standing on their original posts, and those posts are giving out.
Whitney Oaks and Whitney Ranch came later and are newer houses. There, the calls are less about worn-out parts and more about finishing a house: mounting TVs, putting in closet systems and garage shelves, and swapping the builder’s light fixtures for ones you actually picked.

Repairs and improvements
Hands-on repair and improvement work around the house. California limits this side of the business to small jobs: under $1,000 in labor and materials, with no building permit needed. I keep repair jobs under $1000.
Hauling, cleaning and site work
This work isn’t contracting, so the small-job limit doesn’t apply. One couch or a whole-house cleanout, a single unit or a full turnover, one site visit or a series of them.
Straight-up
pricing.
2-hour minimum for a visit. The same rate for every kind of work I do.

Make the visit count
If your first task takes less than 2 hours, line up a second small task and I’ll tackle it while I’m there.
Small repairs welcome
I keep repair and improvement jobs under $1000—the items that are hard to get on a big contractor’s calendar. Hauling, cleaning and site surveys have no size limit.
